Why Foot Care Treatments Need not Stop During the Wintertime

You may not be thinking that wintertime is the best time to have a foot care treatment done, but it is! Just because no one is looks at your feet in the wintertime, in fact you may or may not even bothering to paint your toes. Callus still build up and a good foot care treatment is really relaxing after a long day. Why would doing a foot soak be good idea then? Because with your feet locked up in shoes or boots all day long they need relief! Also calluses can build up on your feet and really dry skin on your legs cause by wearing socks all the time. Just remember a foot care treatment need not stop at your ankles, go all the way up to your knees.

Also having dry itchy skin on your legs is not only unsightly it’s not very touchable either. One way you can combat dry skin is to give yourself a Foot Mud Bath. Not only is this good if you suffer from dry, scaly skin, this foot soak is therapeutic. You can pick up the Dead Sea mud and essential oils at your local natural foods store.

You need:

1 cup Dead Sea Mud

Essential oil of your choice <- Peppermint or Lavender is a good choice

Organic Body Lotion or Oil

Rub the wet mud all over your feet up to your knees. Soak for about 15-20 minutes in a bucket of water after adding the rest of the mud and a few drops of essential oil.

After 15-20 minutes remove the mud with a loofah to exfoliate the dead skin. The minerals naturally found in the Dead Sea Mud with really improve your dry skin. Dry your legs and feet and apply your body lotion or oil.

You can also do this simple Foot Soak

1 Bowl warm water

1 Cup Sea Salt

Immerse your feet for 5 to 20 minutes.

Having this done for you is just delightful, all pampering and relaxing. If you don’t have time to have it done, taking the time at time to do it yourself will soften your callus and help your dry skin.

If you do have a callus build up there are two ways you can take care of it. Soaking your feet to soften your calluses and then using a wet natural pumice stone does is good or using a Pedicure File dry is also good. Try either to see which works best for you. If you do it everyday by summertime, there will be no callus build up to show when you are back wearing your flip-flops again.

Did you know that soaking your feet is as good for you as taking a bath can be? Soaking your feet for 30 minutes will release as much stress as a warm bath can?

After giving yourself a relaxing foot soak, apply a rich moisturizing body lotion to your feet and legs to help prevent dryness. Don’t forget to apply a very good cuticle oil to your cuticles around your toe nails, to keep them soft as well.

Now sit back listen to some good music, lighting a few candles and let warm foot soak does wonders for your soul.

Take some time for yourself, relax your feet in a warm foot soak and take a breather its been a long day!
