HELP HELP HELP!!!! I have 2 baby kittens that are so attacked by fleas that I am worried.?
I have tried vinager and organic lavender shampoo and other
natural things because I am strongly against using chemicals on animals. In the few weeks that I have had them I have bathed them numerous times. Please give me sum advice as to what my next step should be.
You are going to have to break down and use a few Chemicals. If they are under 12 wks old you can't use chemicals. You need to change their bedding and box. get new. don't put on floor.(too close to most fleas.) You need to treat the whole house. not just kittens! First use a shampoo with orange or citrus extract. Soap up kitten and keep it sudsy for 10 min. minimum. this will suffocate the fleas. and the orange will keep them away for a short time. you Must get rid of the fleas in your home or the kittens will be reinfested within a day and they can litteraly be sucked dry and DIE!!!! try to find the stuff that has marigold extract in it(or pennyroyal) . Sorry i dont know the name. other wise you need to use some thing from the vet on your house to kill the fleas. I would use the stuff from you local farm store they use on poulty(powder) . You powder it on your floor and furniture then vaccuum up the dead fleas an hour later. no harm to you or the kittens . the stuff is the gentlest and least caustic (compared to the stuff they use on adult dogs and cats) out there. good luck! DON'T use rubbing alcohol. my vet says if injested(swallowed) by an animal, it will kill their digestive track ! kittens have a very delicate system!
